Woody's first floor consists of three rooms. The old Manhattan Lounge is the site of the original bar Woody first opened. This room is referred to as "the main bar", where people gather to chat, cocktail, have lunch (or brunch), and check out all the people entering. Off the main entrance is the Pub Room. This room is host to many awards both Woody and the bar have earned over the years. An ATM is available in this room as a convenience for everyone.

farmica In 1993, Metropolitan Bakery opened with the goal of bringing European-style hand shaped artisan bread to Philadelphia. Today, almost 15 years later, we continue in our success with expanded retail locations, a growing mail order business and wholesale clients who choose to offer our bread to their customers, further expanding our domain. Additionally, many of the other products sold in our stores are made by small producers like us who are trying to preserve artisinal techniques and traditions.

Known for their intense, earthy flavors, crackling crusts, and complex texture, our breads are baked fresh daily in over thirty varieties. We encourage you to stop by one of our two Center City locations to try our breads, breakfast pastries and other delicious sweets.

At the core of Metropolitan Bakery’s business philosophy is a commitment to the community. Add to that a passion for the art of old-world baking and the reason for their continued success is clear.

sota Salvatore Tagliareni and Evelyn Anderson believe that unique art should be within the price range of all our customers. While we have a superb collection of famous listed artists, we also seek works of less well known artists, those with exceptional talent but not in the mainstream of the art world in the thirties through the seventies. We offer a full range of framing and restoration services.

To secure exceptional art that is reasonably priced, we are in daily contact with estates, auctions, dealers and private collectors. All of our pieces are sold in prime condition with particular attention to framing. We painstakingly frame our works in the highest quality frames and seek to recreate the period that most enhances the individual piece. Our Policy is to offer original art at affordable prices. All of our paintings are sold in mint condition. In order to ensure customer satisfaction, we will willingly accept the return of a painting at any time in its original condition for full credit towards any other painting in our possession.

We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Visa and American Express.
